What Fun Holiday Events Are Happening in Little Rock?

Whether you love parades, shows, or special markets, Little Rock has you covered. There is plenty to do and see that will get you into the holiday spirit. The events start in November, so make sure to mark them on your calendars.

• 2019 Dazzle Daze Holiday Market. Stop by the Conway Expo Center from Nov. 21 through 23 to experience the Dazzle Daze Holiday Market. This market benefits medical scholarships, technologically advanced equipment, and community programs thanks to the Conway Regional Women’s Council. There are many vendors and goods to choose from so you can get your shopping done while supporting good causes.
• 25^th Annual Holiday Show at Gallery 26. If you want to view different jewelry, paintings, sculptures, and other holiday art, you can come to Gallery 26’s 25^th Annual Holiday Show, available for viewing now through Jan. 11.
• Bright the Night Downtown Tree Lighting. Witness downtown’s growing yuletide tradition and come down to Bright the Night. On Nov. 25 at 5:30 p.m., the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will begin playing holiday tunes for the tree lighting ceremony that begins at 6 p.m. This event is free for the whole family, and even Santa will be in attendance!
• Northern Lights Festival 2019. This free event marks the grand opening of the new community space, Argenta Plaza. The Northern Lights Festival will feature live music, food trucks, vendors, and plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy. There will even be a special tree lighting of Little Rock’s new Christmas Tree that is one of the tallest in the state! All of this takes place Nov. 30 starting at 5:30 p.m. at Argenta Plaza.
• Hometown Holidays. Our very own Little Rock Zoo transforms this holiday season for Hometown Holidays starting on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. Ticket prices vary for members and non-members, but your ticket includes dinner, holiday music and crafts, animal meet and greets, and even a picture with Santa!
• SoMa Holiday Market. South Main will be packed with vendors on Dec. 6 and 7 for the SoMa Holiday Market! Do some of your Christmas shopping, mingle with community members, and celebrate the holidays in our historic Little Rock.
• 2019 Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade. Get bundled up and head to Broadway for the 2019 Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade in Little Rock! The parade steps off at 3 p.m. at Second and Broadway and will end at the State Capitol. Once it’s dark, there will be a light display with fireworks!
• Arkansas Chamber Singers 40^th Anniversary Holiday Concerts. This December, you can see the Arkansas Chamber Singers in a couple different locations to see their 40^th Anniversary Holiday Concerts. They’ll be performing at Pulaski Heights United Methodist on Dec. 10 and at their traditional Christmas at the Old State House on Dec. 13, 14, and 15. The admission is free, but you can reserve a spot to ensure seating.
• Ballet Arkansas presents Nutcracker Spectacular. You won’t want to miss this production performed by Ballet Arkansas because it includes a cast of over 240 adults and children, 2 choral ensembles, and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. The Nutcracker Spectacular will be on Dec. 13, 14, and 15, so make sure to get your tickets today!
• Celtic Woman: The Best of Christmas. On Dec. 16 you can see the group everyone has been raving about since their formation in 2004. Ireland’s all-woman musical group Celtic Woman is coming to the Robinson Center Performance Hall to perform their The Best of Christmas show. Tickets start at $70 for this once in a lifetime experience.

Best Places for Hot Meals and Warm-Me-Up Drinks

While the season can get busy, you should take time to slow down and enjoy it. Fill your belly and your heart—spend some time sharing a meal with the people you love at one of these great restaurants.

• Brave New Restaurant. This American steakhouse has delicious food and a wonderful view of the Arkansas River. This casual, warm environment is perfect for a chilly night when you don’t want to cook but still want a delicious meal. Reservations are recommended.
• Lost Forty Brewing. We all need a pub-style restaurant where we can get a beer with good food. Get together and grab drinks with your friends at Lost Forty Brewing, a craft microbrewery named after the Lost 40 acres of land that was originally mapped as a body of water. Because of this, the trees on the land were untouched, and this brewery contributes to this land’s continual survival.
• Flying Saucer Draught Emporium. You’ll want to come for some food and beer at Flying Saucer Draught Emporium because it was recently named the Best Craft Beer Bar in Arkansas by Forbes! Stop by for the best happy hour in Little Rock and try one of their many craft beers on tap!
• The Root Cafe. If you’re looking for a family-friendly restaurant with locally sourced food, The Root Cafe is for you. They believe in helping the environment and local growers and emphasizing sustainable food systems in their community.

Where Do You Get Christmas Trees?

One of the main parts of decorating for the season is a Christmas tree. Little Rock is surrounded with Christmas tree farms so you’re sure to get the best tree for the season. You might have to drive a little way out of the city, but it’s well worth the trip to get the perfect tree for your home!

• Motley’s Christmas Tree Farm. About 25 minutes outside of Little Rock is Motley’s Christmas Tree Farm. You can select from a variety of quality Christmas trees including Fraser Firs, Leyland Cypresses, and Carolina Sapphires. If you don’t have cash on you, no problem! They take cards!
• Papa Santa’s Christmas Tree Farm. Not only does this farm have Christmas trees, they also have Santa! So after picking out the perfect tree, kids can also meet the big man himself. Papa Christmas Tree Farm is about 43 minutes away from Little Rock.
• Romance Christmas Tree Farms LLC. Choose from classic trees like Fraser Firs and Leylands, or other varieties like Colorado Blue Spruce and Scotch Pines. Romance Christmas Tree Farms also has a Cow Train for children to ride. This beautiful farm is about 55 minutes from Little Rock.
